Biomethane production captures methane, a strong greenhouse gas, from its bio raw material, and turns it into useful fuel. This process stops methane from escaping into the atmosphere, where it would contribute to global warming. Biomethane, made from biogas, can be used just like natural gas. It easily uses the existing gas systems without needing any changes, making it a cost-effective and simple way to support decarbonisation. CO2 from the atmosphere is captured by organic waste used to produce biomethane. Its combustion produces biogenic CO2 emissions.
