Empowering a Sustainable Future

The International Gas Union (IGU), in partnership with The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas), have organised a highly successful and sold-out Summit in Hong Kong earlier this week, highlighting the role of Gas in empowering a sustainable future in Asia.

Amid accelerating energy evolution and rising sustainability imperatives, the Summit provided a high-level platform to examine the evolving role of Gas alongside emerging energy solutions in a low-emission future. Through strategic dialogue and cross-sector collaboration, participants explored policy directions, technological innovations and investment opportunities shaping resilient energy systems across Asia Pacific and beyond.

Leveraging IGU’s global network and Towngas’ regional leadership, the Summit offered a unique opportunity to connect with influential stakeholders, exchange actionable insights and help shape the future of the global energy landscape.

Mr Peter Wong, the Managing Director of Towngas, argued that hosting this Summit in Hong Kong provided a platform for the global industry to build networks, share experiences and foster dialogue:

Mr Andrea Stegher - the President of IGU – in his opening remarks for this Summit, emphasised that, for the achievement of a sustainable energy future, “reality and ambition should be at the basis of our industry’s developments, and they should be the key drivers of pragmatic government policies.”
