For the first time five years the spot LNG percentage declined, to 34% in 2021 from 35% in 2020, with the growth in LNG trade being largely accounted for by contracted LNG – both OPE and hub-indexed. Unsurprisingly, spot LNG imports are predominant in the Asia and Asia Pacific regions.
