Affiliated to IGU and Supporters of IGU

News item: “Affiliated to IGU” and “Supporters of IGU”

IGU is regularly approached by other organisations, authorities and companies wanting to get in closer connection with IGU. In most cases they do not qualify to become members of IGU according to the IGU statutes, but if they are engaged in the energy industry in one way or another there could be good reasons for keeping in contact.

Since IGU is a world wide gas organisation, it seems obvious and rational to get into closer contact with the many regional and Sector organisations and to that end IGU created the term “Organisation affiliated to IGU”. You can find more about the terms and the organisations already involved here

Since not all the contact we have received would qualify to become an affiliated organisation IGU has now created the term “Supporters of IGU” to respond to those approaches. You can find the rules for supporters here
