Supporters of IGU

IGU is often approached by other entities (authorities, companies, associations etc.) expressing an interest in closer co-operation with IGU, but where neither membership or affiliation can be applicable.

This does not mean that IGU is not interested in closer contact also to such entities. 

Although the interest of the applicant may be purely commercial, contacts, exchange of information from such companies may provide fresh input to the work of IGU.

Consequently IGU has created the notion: “Supporters of IGU”.

In order to become Supporters of IGU the applicant: 

• must wholly or partly deliver services or goods to the gas industry or in other ways be doing work related to that industry
• must indicate the reasons for seeking closer relationship with IGU, acceptable to the IGU management

• mention supporters in organisation charts (where possible and appropriate), on the web site and in the IGU Magazine
• where appropriate invite relevant representatives of supporters to special Committee meetings, if the Committee Chairman deems it advantageous for the work/studies at hand as well as to Council meetings, if the President finds it advantageous for the proceedings

• will promote IGU where possible and appropriate and mention themselves as “Supporters of IGU"
• will annually pay at least 1,000 Euro to IGU, which will primarily be used to sponsor special IGU events wholly or partly
• may advertise in the IGU magazine at current prices as stipulated by the publisher
