Main topic is how to manage Security of Supply in a challenging Global Gas Market. Pakistan’s energy demand over the next 15 years is expected to grow at a rate of between 6.5 to 7.5% per annum, given the country’s expected industrial and population growth and Pakistan therefore faces a large and growing energy deficit
Strong commercial links are growing between gas producing and gas consuming nations as the development of transnational pipelines and LNG trade continue to transform gas into one of the most important globally traded commodities.
Substantial energy infrastructure investments and off-take agreements are therefore planned by the government in order to sure-up Pakistan’s energy sector for the importation of gas from a number of supply sources by 2010 – 11. It is therefore foreseen that a major gathering of this kind will facilitate the adoption of inter-country business alliances and address the strategic issues that are important to the achieving the sustainable development
